I read your intern queen experience and totally agree!

I'm a public relations major and had very minimal experience, but was DYING for a great internship. A great internship opportunity was available by my school for this fall (2009) and I wanted it so badly, but knew they'd never choose me without more experience and also knew the same was true of any large company.

I ended up interning this summer for a small media company in New York City and it was great! I got more experience because the company was small AND got the same New York City experience as anyone else, even though I wasn't working for a major corporation.

I ended up getting the Fall internship I wanted so badly!

P.S. I'm from Florida and got MAJOR brownie points for going to New York this summer by my interviewer. Even though I worked for a small company, my interviewer said she was impressed by my initiative and willingness "to go big." She said going to New York this summer alone to intern, no matter where it was, is what set me apart from all the other students who applied to the fall internship.
