Know Your Deadlines! The Official Intern Hiring Schedule For The Year.

Here at InternQueen.com we always get questions about the internships hiring schedule from both students and employers so I thought we’d post it on the blog and share this with everyone. I do want to clarify that below is an IDEAL internship hiring schedule. Not all of the companies that we work with (or that exist in the world) abide by this hiring schedule. However, this is the hiring schedule that we encourage both students and employers to follow. I also want to clarify that this schedule is for students following a SEMESTER year at school and not a QUARTER system.

Summer Internships

Recruitment Period For Fortune 500 Companies and Other Award-Winning Programs: September – December. Note: Not all Fortune 500 Companies follow this timeframe but students should be advised that several do recruit very early and have November deadlines (the year before)

Recruitment Period For Most Employers: February – April

Popular Application Deadline: March 15th and April 1st

Summer Internship Length: After Memorial Day – Early August

Fall Internships

Recruitment Period For Fortune 500 Companies: June – August

Recruitment Period For Most Employers: July – September

Popular Application Deadline: August 1st

Fall Internship Length: After Labor Day – Early December (before exams)

Spring Internships

Recruitment Period For Fortune 500 Companies: September - November

Recruitment Period For Most Employers: November - January

Popular Application Deadline: November 1st or November 15th or December 1st

Fall Internship Length: Mid-January – Late April
