Grant Writer: The grant writers for UCOF prepare grant proposals, beginning by performing research.
-To develop their proposals, the grant writers must familiarize themselves with the organization's programs, goals and financial needs.
-They also look into potential funding sources.

Internship Duties: 

The web designer is responsible for maintaining the look and feel of our current website, and updating the website daily as needed with pictures, updates and stories from our writers under the direction our Director of Marketing. The web designer is also responsible for creating new design strategies to keep up with trend.

This role coordinates with the internal Marketing and PR teams to support their respective missions, ensuring consistency in voice and cultivating a social media referral network.

The College Tourist is a digital writing platform designed for College Students who enjoy the adventure of travel. Students share their voice through stories and articles to inspire their peers to study aboard, travel and make the most of their college journey.

Internship Duties: 

1 TEAM, 4 MONTHS, 12 BLOG POSTS and a bunch of FUN! If you love writing and social media then this is the program for you. College Tourist is looking for adventurous, vibrant and creative team members to contribute to our student blogging platform for the Fall Semester, 2014. You will be part of a team who will be involved in fun marketing and social media challenges each week to promote the College Tourist brand. Team members will create an author’s profile which will be a permanent record of their work.

FALL WRITERS' TEAM DUTIES:
• Create and write articles on assigned topics and those of your own choosing each month. Articles will be approximately 1000 words and each article should be accompanied by at least 2 pieces of original high quality photography or video.
• Each Intern will be required to submit 3 articles per month with tight deadlines for a total of 12 articles. (September through December)
• Participate in virtual social media events and fun challenges with other College Tourist Team members on a weekly basis
• Represent College Tourist, promoting the brand via provided branding material and giveaways.
• Engage and share your articles and those of other team members on your social media platforms.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
• A strong Interest in writing and creating engaging articles targeted at the college student demographic.
• Have studied abroad (or traveled outside of the US as a young adult).

We are looking for smart, hungry and determined intern candidates who want to begin a career in communications. We need people who can write, think, take initiative and get results. The ability to learn quickly is a must.

Mills PR works with clients in industries that span from food service and transportation and professional services. Mills PR also does a great deal of work developing crisis communication strategies and working on community relations projects. Our interns get the opportunity to work with all of our clients. As a result, our interns get a wide range of experience in all of the different aspects of public relations and gain insight into the operations of an agency.

Typical duties may include: Drafting press releases, media advisories, memos, follow-up calls, building media lists, photography, videography, drafting social media content, social media community management, tracking and compiling clips and hits, updating editorial calendars, running errands, administrative work (faxing, copying, scanning).

Qualifications:

The candidate should be able to work in a fast paced environment, and have superior writing skills and attention to detail. There is a minimum 3.0 GPA, but candidates of all majors are encouraged to apply. Must have strong command of the English language and feel comfortable writing and speaking on the phone in English.

We ask that interns are able to commit at least 12 hours a week working at Mills. We are flexible with your schedule, start and end dates, and unexpected events. This internship is an unpaid opportunity, however course credit is available.

We are specifically interested in candidates looking to hone their skills in media relations and digital content generation.
