TableSAVVY, in partnership with Chicago Magazine, is a “last minute” reservation service, helping fine dining restaurants fill “last minute” empty tables for the night, while giving spontaneous consumers 30% off to fill these tables. At any time throughout the day, our restaurants post “last minute” empty tables they have for the night, allowing TableSAVVY users to pay a small $5 reservation fee, and receive 30% off their meal that night. We match “last minute” empty seats with spontaneous consumers!

Internship Duties: 

-A dedicated student who is looking for an unpaid internship that requires 10 hours per week.
-The term of this internship is one semester; however can be extended if there is mutual interest.

Social Media
  • A social media addict, who understands the ins and outs of popular social networks, and is comfortable diving head first into posting, tweeting, pinning, and blogging

  • Have fun.. TableSAVVY is a fun, spontaneous, last minute brand, and our Social Media content should definitely reflect that...

  • Engaging with other brands/restaurants, engaging with Users, pictures... etc... just have fun..

  • A creative thinker who will find new, exciting ways to get the word out about TableSAVVY and its mission, while also promoting new and existing restaurants.

  • Develop contests and promotions that will drive traffic to the TableSAVVY site.

RESTAURANT PR & MARKETING INTERNSHIP: Restaurant Group of Chef Daniel Boulud

What would eventually become The Dinex Group began to take shape when Daniel Boulud left his position as Executive Chef at New York’s famed Le Cirque in 1992. The following year, with the help of Lili Lynton, a trusted friend and savvy investment professional, and the financial backing of Joel Smilow, former Chairman of Playtex Products, the chef went on to open Restaurant DANIEL. Soon thereafter the restaurant would attract significant media acclaim and a highly coveted four star rating in The New York Times and three stars in the New York City Michelin Guide. Today, The Dinex Group operates 16 restaurants, including seven in New York City and an additional seven in national and international destinations.

Internship Duties: 

Fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the areas of PR, Marketing, Event Planning, Social Media and Design with a leading New York City based, international restaurant group.

The intern position will learn how to represent and promote a portfolio of established restaurant brands in creative ways and be introduced to and work with some of the best and brightest talent on the NYC culinary scene and will get a behind the scenes look at how food, drink and service intersect.

Intern will gain a comprehensive understanding of both the Marketing/Public Relations discipline and duties include but are not limited to: food trend and internet research, media monitoring, media list management, data entry, special event staffing, pitch writing, social media monitoring and engagement. The intern will report directly to the department Publicist, with dotted line to PR & Marketing Director.

Requirements
• Seeking a passionate, hardworking, organized individual with strong creative writing skills.
• Candidates must have a professional and pleasant demeanor and a desire to learn within the hospitality industry.
• Previous office administrative experience and working knowledge of all basic computer programs (Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, etc.).
• Commitment to working minimum 2 days a week, or equivalent hours.

Duration
• The internship will last approximately from beginning of September through December
• Requested commitment of 15-20 hours per week, depending on course load.

Wise & Company is a special events firm that specializes in planning and executing high-profile events in the entertainment, fashion and media industries. Our clients include Glamour and GQ magazines, the Tribeca Film Festival, Focus Features, Paramount Pictures, Lacoste and many more. We are looking for an intern to help us prepare for and manage our events during fall 2014.

Internship Duties: 

Intern will work closely with Wise & Company staff to execute a variety of events such as movie premieres, fashion shows and award shows. Tasks and responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

• Event RSVP list management
• Coordinating event staffing and overseeing staff on site
• Managing event mailing and guest communication
• Location scouting and vendor research
• Managing event logistics, including set up, etc.
• General office support

Requirements:
• Must be enrolled in college in New York City
• Must be available for in-person interview
• Must have reliable transportation to Wise & Company office each day he/she is working
• Must receive school credit for internship – internship is unpaid
• Must be willing to sign Wise & Company confidentiality agreement

Skill Requirements:
• Proficiency in Excel and Word; proficiency in FileMaker PRO a plus
• VERY comfortable on Mac
• Excellent communication skills
• Previous work or internship experience
• Sophomore, junior or senior standing – no college graduates or freshmen
• Understanding of media and entertainment industries a plus

Internship hours are negotiable and dependent on school requirements, but will include evening events. Intern must be able to work at least two days a week – full days preferred, but not required.
