Internship Program: The candidate has the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the nonprofit sector and contribute to marketing/promotional efforts. The internship program is open year-round. Responsibilities: The Dress for Success Worldwide-West internship experience incorporates hands-on experience with creating marketing materials, writing and design. The intern will join a team who is responsible for increasing our brand awareness, driving internet traffic, and promoting events and programs. Projects can range from creating logos, event invitations and newsletter outreach.

Requirements: Passion for Dress for Success’ mission. Excellent communication skills and knowledge of design software are a must. Good organizational skills and attention to details and deadlines are required. Enthusiastic and eager to learn; professional, ability to multi-task, flexible, accuracy and thoroughness are especially important.

Hours: Approximately 5 hours a week - days and times negotiable. Projects will be on an as-needed basis. You have the option to work remotely or work in our DTLA office.

Compensation: School credit only.

Responsibilities: The Dress for Success Worldwide-West internship incorporates hands-on experience with event planning for The Power Walk for Dress for Success fundraiser scheduled for September 27, 2014. The intern will work side by side with the Development Manager to activate this national event at the local level. Intern will take the lead in managing event logistics. Projects can include but are not limited to: donor research, creation of solicitation materials, special events planning, data entry, grant writing, other development-related tasks, as needed.

Requirements: Passion for Dress for Success mission. Excellent communication skills, writing, knowledge of excel and power point a must. Detail oriented with the ability to perform in a fast-paced environment. Intern is energetic and eager to learn, professional and enjoys taking initiative.

Hours: 20 hours a week. Intern could work some hours remotely when appropriate.

Responsibilities: Dress for Success Worldwide-West has an opening for a Special Events Intern starting in September and ending in November. The incumbent will report to the Development Manager and be responsible for assisting in all aspects of event planning and execution for all of the organization’s events including: Yoga in The Park, The Power Walk for Dress for Success, Shop for Success and other special events. Must be available to attend and assist on some evenings and weekends. The Special Events Intern will have the opportunity to gain experience in event management and fundraising in a professional work environment. The Special Events Intern will assist with such areas as auction outreach, corporate research, and event management, marketing/promotion of events, gift bag solicitation, and administrative tasks.

 Work with the Development Manager and Development and Corporate Relations Intern to identify, solicit and secure in-kind donations of product for prizes, auctions, raffles, giveaways.
 Assists with orientation of event volunteers.
 Maintain current information and submit updates for all online event pages.
 Research corporate partners for potential partnerships.
 Work with our Director of Operations to promote and market the events.
 Aid in the coordination of event logistics, vendor management, etc.
 Administrative duties as assigned including maintaining several excel spreadsheets.
 Attend all events and assist with set-up, breakdown, check-in, information table. Duties may include assembling red carpet step & repeat for photos, event signage, taking pictures, tabling, etc.

Requirements: Passion for Dress for Success’ mission. Interest in fundraising, events, media, women issues and:

INTERNSHIP DUTIES:
Dress for Success Worldwide -West is seeking an energetic individual to assist us in our Los Angeles office. This internship position carries with it the opportunity to make a noticeable and lasting impact on Los Angeles workforce development and on the lives of the disadvantaged women we serve. It also offers a unique opportunity to be a part of a well-known international organization and a growing regional team. This internship reports directly to the Program Coordinator.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Programs
• Assist Program Coordinator in organization of materials and logistics of the Going Places Network (GPN) by Walmart and Professional Women's Group (PWG), our programs which increase our clients' success in their job search, and increase job retention.
• Assist as needed with facilitation, recruiting, supporting, and graduating clients from GPN and PWG.
• Data collection, reporting, and analysis; must be familiar with MS Office software and be able to professionally handle email, telephone, and interactions with clients, volunteers, and partner agencies.
Outreach
• Represent Dress for Success at events throughout Los Angeles. Events occur during the weekdays, evenings, and weekends.
• Enhance your ability to tell a story with confidence and conduct community outreach.
Career Coach
• Assist our clients in job application and interview preparation in our Career Center.
• Duties may include helping clients brainstorm new employment opportunities, provide feedback on resumes or cover letters, conduct mock interviews and prepare for a successful job interview. We focus on educating our clients with job hunting and job retainment skills. Skills needed and enhanced through this internship will be proficient communication skills, and conducting direct service with and motivating clients.
Administrative
• Administrative tasks in office include telephone work, email, data entry and analysis, and research. Hours are flexible Monday-Friday 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
• This is an opportunity to plan, implement, and evaluate projects.
• Must be organized and have proficiency in MS Office suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Powerpoint.
