Womenworking.com is one of the premier websites for professional women. A lot of informal mentoring goes on. There is a Campus Corner that has just been developed so that college students can take advantage of strategies, tips, and advice from a diverse group of dynamic women. The founder is Helene Lerner, television host, author, and Emmy Award-winning executive producer. GREAT MARKETING INTERNSHIP—APPLY RIGHT AWAY Creative Expansions, Inc., the company that hosts one of the premier Web sites for professional women—www.womenworking.com—is looking for a savvy marketing student to get hand-on experience in a variety of tasks: researching and pitching potential advertising opportunities, maintaining media kits and contact lists, developing cross-promotional ideas and other ways to increase the website’s reach, as well as some admin tasks. Someone with basic graphic design experience is needed—who knows Dreamweaver and Illustrator.
Internship Duties:

Students need to be based in the New York City area. They should be college or graduate students (not high school students)

Working Mother magazine, a subsidiary of Bonnier Corp., is looking for an intern to join it’s photo department. Responsibilities would include assisting in photo research, ordering hi-res images, tracking invoices, sending tear sheets to photographers and additional important administrative duties. School credit and a weekly stipend of $100 will be offered. Our ideal candidate would have a strong interest in magazines and photography, excellent organizational skills and be able to work on deadlines. A basic knowledge of Photoshop and InDesign is a must.
Internship Duties: 

Must have a pleasant phone manner, be comfortable with computers and able to work autonomously.
Schedule is flexible, but we prefer at least 2-3 days/week. Position is unpaid and for school credit, but we'll make sure you get great experience!

Working Mother magazine has an excellent opportunity for a smart, stylish, organized and on-the-ball lifestyle intern. Duties include working closely with our lifestyle editor, calling in products (some children's products), scoping out new fashion accessories and beauty products, working with vendors, writing buyer's guide info, going to trade shows and helping set up photo shoots.

This winter/spring internship would involve writing/researching articles, and helping to expand the reach of the website. Great learning experience for a self-starter!
