PR interns will have the choice of projects they wish to sit on, but projects will be focused on the following areas:
Advertising/Job Bank. The College Lifestyles site is moving towards a sponsor site. The PR team will identify key advertisers based on our focus. In addition, advertising interns will create an excel AND contact employers for listing on our job bank site.
5-10 companies per week should be contacted via email. CEO will be cc’d on all emails so she can phone companies after 1 week.
Social Media Marketing. Utilizing and building fans and potential advertisers for our Facebook, Pinterest, Linked In, Twitter Pages as well as marketing our events (fashion shows, speaking tours, etc). In addition, social media interns will create ‘friendly bonds’ and network with other blogs (we have a list). You will work 3 days of week on various assignments of marketing our site via social media.
Social Media Marketing interns will also have to choice to develop our tumblr, Pinetrest, and Polvore account.
Additional intern responsibilities:
A go-getter! College Lifestyles is a ‘fast-paced’ organization - some of our best ideas came from the interns we have or we have had. Never be shy on expressing your opinion.
Positive attitude. You represent College Lifestyles! Please, College Lifestyles has no time, place, or energy for drama. We encourage our interns to look at their own personal post on Facebook and other social media since interns are looked at as professional.
Responsible. This is not a ‘make copies’ internship. We want you to shine and step up with your goals.
Write to meet the mission/goals of College Lifestyles. We ask your post/writing always be in relation to the mission of College Lifestyles. This is not time for ‘personal post’ or a ‘personal diary.’ This is fine for your own personal blog, but not acceptable work for our website.
Submit to Editor in Chief weekly updates on your position. Editor in Chief will send out assignments every Sunday.
Submit both a Mid-point evaluation and monthly goals to the Executive Director. Interns will sit in on a mid-point conference call to review goals and discuss work.
Attend Conference call. Interns will sit on 15 minute bi-weekly (every other week) with Shelly. Some of the calls may be done as a group.
Respond to emails within 48 hours (during week days).
Respond to text messages within 24 hours.
We will be more than willing to complete any paperwork for obtaining school credit.
