Pittsburgh Magazine Administrative/Sales Internship
Since 1969, Pittsburgh Magazine has been the region's most-read magazine. Built on the foundation of independent quality journalism, our magazine serves as a trusted information partner for engaged residents. Pittsburgh is now a buzz city, a center for health care, technology, the arts and more—and we've documented its growth along the way.
Administrative/sales interns work at the core of the organization. They do anything from creating spreadsheets to collecting advertiser leads, essentially helping maintain certain aspects of the magazine.
It's important that candidates have superior organization, interpersonal, time-management and multitasking skills. One day, the intern might be calling folks who RSVP'd for an upcoming event, and the next, they might be filing contracts and organizing archives. But it's key that students have a strong work ethic and desire to contribute because they will complete tasks in a timely manner and enjoy the work along the way. While their tasks may not always be exciting, they are recognized for their efforts, especially since everyone was in their shoes at one point.
Moreover, because the magazine presents an increasingly large amount of events each year, there are opportunities for interns to help plan, prep and assist the day of the occasion.
Interns are acknowledged in the magazine's masthead.
