It’s the weekend and you and your girlfriends decide to try the newest DIY nails—the end result is tie-dye patterns in hot pink, electric yellow, and acid green. Now fast forward to Monday morning, just as you are getting ready to head out the door you realize those nails aren’t going to fly with your internship coordinator… there is only time to grab a cotton ball sopping-wet with polish remover, leaving you with no choice but to go sans manicure for the day.
Whether you’ve found yourself in a similar situation or whether you just really enjoy DIY manicures, you’ll love these three Internship Worthy Manicures.
1. The Ombre Manicure is impressive looking, but super easy: paint 2 coats of white nail polish and let dry, next paint your colored nail polish onto a damp makeup sponge and blot on nail, continue blotting upward making the area closest to your nail tip the thickest/darkest.
2. Everyone will love your ultra cool Monochromatic Manicure: paint 3 coats of a matte polish and let dry, then paint tips with a high-shine version of the same color (you can also use a matte top coat to make sure the match is perfect).
3. The Neutral Rainbow Manicure allows you to still have fun with color, just in a more controlled manner: paint nails with 2 coats of a neutral color like grey or beige, and then use a different light/pastel color for each tip.
