Getting up early is the worst thing a college student could possibly hear; I personally feel like bludgeoning my alarm when it goes off. However, getting a head start on the day will give you the extra boost you need to get through the rest of the day as well as get you prepared for your life with a career.
1. If you exercise early, you are more likely to have more energy to get through the rest of the day. Statistics show that a morning jog gets your brain working as well as giving your metabolism a boost. Yay for calorie burning and energy.
2. By applying early for internships, you actually have a better chance with the internship. Simple logic, but it’s true. I know about that horrible term called procrastination. It ruins lives of college students across country. However, we can beat the battle, I swear to it. Write a list of what you need to get done, schedule your life, and once you receive an assignment, try to do it that night. By finishing assignments early, especially internship applications, you have a better chance of getting the desired result, namely an A+ or an internship.
3. With being early and prompt, you show your future bosses as well as internship coordinators that you are on top of your life, and that you are not a slacker. Come on now, by getting things done, it shows that you have drive as well as your commitment to the job.
So, it goes without saying that the early bird really does get the worm. Just follow these tips and you should be well on your way to success.
