4 Great Things To Do in Los Angeles
I hope everyone had an amazing 4th of July. I know some of you were off for a few days last week and got to celebrate an extra long weekend! Personally, I took Wednesday - Friday off and enjoyed some amazing "down time" with family and friends. My parents were actually in town from Florida so it was nice to see them and show them around Los Angeles. Here are a few highlights from my weekend:
1. Go See the Katie Perry Movie! I was hesitant to bring my friends and family to this movie but I'm so glad I did. There have been so many terrible movies lately and this one was fun, heartfelt, and inspiring. I love watching young people work hard to get where they want to be - Katie was no exception.
2. Visit Balboa Island! I heard about Balboa Island years ago from an old boss but never got the chance to check it out. I took a gamble and drove to the "OC" with my parents (about an hour drive from Los Angeles) and it was the cutest little beach town. It's so much fun to walk around, check out the larger-than-life homes on the water, visit the little shops, and try a world-famous Balboa Bar.
3. Check out Old Burbank. I'm a valley-girl at heart and I'm always discovering new things in the Burbank/Toluca Lake area. My family and I went to "Old Burbank" searching for unique vintage/retro furniture. In Old Burbank there are at least 10 amazing antique and vintage shops to check out. You can find great clothing, jewelry, furniture, and more. When you are done - head over to Porto's Bakery for a delicious treat!
4. Go for a Hike! Hiking really is a great way to catch up with friends and family while getting great exercise. In the Los Angeles area there are so many places to hike. This weekend I did Fryman Canyon and Runyon. Another great hike to check out is Angeles National Forest.
