Summer is the perfect time to experiment with your nails. Use your free time to have a little fun with your digits!
Experiment with colors: Can’t find the perfect nail color? Try mixing the colors you have. Often, you can get some really interesting colors just by combining shades. If you have two nail polishes that you’re running low on, try blending them to see instead of throwing them out. Also, check out new nail collections like American Apparel’s Sheer Collection.
Try a new nail shape: From stilettos to triangles, there are so many nail shapes to choose from. If you’re worried about professionalism at your internship (or you just don’t want to injure yourself with a pointy stiletto nail), try a modification of the shapes by rounding edges or trying them on shorter nails.
Designs: Since the nail art craze has come to a height recently, there are a lot of cool shops that do amazing nail art. Search Yelp! for salons in your city that have nail art technicians.
DIY: Running low on cash? Pamper yourself at home! Sometimes, half the fun of having cool designs is knowing that you did them yourself. Learn how to create designs from tutorials online. One of my favorite websites is http://www.nail-art-101.com/nail_art_tutorials.html. More satisfaction, less money spent at the nail salon!
