Midway through my sophomore year in college, I accepted a virtual internship in PR and marketing. After accepting the internship, I realized I had a lot on my plate. I needed to make some adjustments in my life in order to have the most beneficial experience from my internship, while also doing well in school. After trying many different adjustments, I found a way to balance school and my internship. Each morning before I went to class, I set aside enough time to get my goals for the day completed. Also, I started getting into the habit of reviewing my notes before conference calls with my mentor. This made juggling class work and the internship more manageable. So, for those who are considering an internship during the school year, my advice is to map out your schedule and goals before even starting your internship. Do this and you&ll be fully prepared to take on an internship, while also attending class.
