For most college students, spring break is either long gone or just around the corner. As I get back into the swing of schoolwork, all I can think about was the great music and awesome food SXSW offered in Austin, TX, where I went last week for spring break. SXSW is split up into music, film and interactive festivals all around
Austin is the “Live Music Capital of the World” but second to that they should be known for their abundance and variety of food trucks. On and around the historic 6th street there are parking lots with food trucks that offer every kind of cuisine.
My favorite was Shorty’s Burgers on the corner of 5th Street and Colorado. Their West Coast Style burger had double meat, cheese and special sauce. Pair that with shoestring fries and you got yourself a great meal.
Or, if you’re looking for a sit down meal, Salt Lick BBQ was the best I’ve ever had. Pick three meats and they pair them with coleslaw, potatoes and beans, all for under $15.
The Texans sure do know how to do food.
