The Intern Queen

Student FAQs

Welcome to the #InternQueenFamily! We are so happy to have you on our website and excited to help connect you with a potential internship! Here are some frequently asked questions, if you have a question that's not answered here, please reach out to us directly via email or phone HERE.

Do I need to upload a cover letter and resume?

Yes. We recommend (and require) that a cover letter and resume be uploaded for each opportunity. This is to encourage YOU to customize your materials and show the employer that you are taking the time to customize a cover letter for their opportunity. We do NOT recommend sending the same resume and cover letter to each employer on the site. An employer can tell if your materials are the same and generic. Remember, make the employer feel special, customize your materials!

How long until I hear back from an employer?

Every employer is different and has their own recruiting process and/or timeline. We recommend that students apply for 5-10 internships on the website. If it's been two weeks and you haven't heard back from anyone, you might consider applying for more opportunities. Remember, if you don't live in the area where the internship is being hosted, make sure you explain that in the cover letter.

Can I follow up with the employers directly?

You can't follow up with the employers directly BUT we do want to help. Two weeks after you submit your resumes, you can email us HERE and we are happy to give you any updates that we have and check in with the employers (if we are able to do so). We're here to help!

Are the internships paid, unpaid, virtual, or in-office?

Every internship is different. Each listing should specify all of that information. If you have any questions, please reach out to our team.

How will I know when new internships are posted?

Please check our site as frequently as possible. We also recommend that you follow us on Twitter ( to learn about new opportunities, follow up on Instagram for daily inspiration, follow us on SnapChat for quick tips, and watch our Youtube videos that get released every Wednesday and every other Monday to learn about how to be the BEST intern and land a job after graduation. We also send out email blasts every few weeks that talk about new opportunities.
