“Dear Santa, I would like a pony, no, a pencil skirt this Christmas.”

Daily inspiration and advice for the ambitious savvy young professional

“Dear Santa, I would like a pony, no, a pencil skirt this Christmas.”

This blog is written by Mollie, our campus ambassador from Northern Michigan University.

The holidays are just around the corner and this year should be your big push for all things intern! Here are just a few things I will be asking Santa for this year:

  • iPad2 – The iPad2 is a great tool for staying organized as well as staying up-to-the-minute on social media. Not only will you be able to check your e-mail on the bus before you get to your internship, but you will be able to tweet your colleagues and see if they need you to pick up some coffee! http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/shop_ipad/family/ipad/select
  • Business casual clothing – My parents love to buy me clothes for gifts, mostly because they don’t want to drop six hundred dollars on an iPad, but also because clothes are always useful. Blazers, dress pants, and skirts for the ladies, and ties, dress shirts and dress pants for the guys.
  • 2012 Planner – If you haven’t done so already, get yourself a planner and make it your life! The day to day duties of an intern are fast paced and exciting, and the last thing you want is to forget an important meeting with the CEO.
  • Straight up Cash – The likelihood of finding an internship that will pay enough for you to live off of is slim. Asking good old St. Nick for some benjamins might not be a half bad idea.
  • Let’s not forget stocking stuffers: Travel Mug, Lint Roller, Breath Freshener, Lip Gloss, Nail Polish, Tide To-Go Sticks, Mini Stapler, and lots of pens and pencils.

Just for Fun Favorites
