Hope you’re all enjoying your busy but hopefully relaxing summer. During the summer we’re busy with internships, jobs, summer sessions, and the list goes on. It’s important to remember to take some time and relax. With all of our busy schedules we may realize we have less time to do things that are healthy for ourselves, like exercising. I know you’re probably thinking running errands all day is exercise enough, but working out can help reduce stress and keep your mind and body healthy during the summer months. Listed below are some fun and easy ways to exercise while enjoying the sun but please remember to stay hydrated, use sun block, and never over work yourself.
1) Take a jog in the park and if you have a dog bring it along!
2) Beach soccer/football/rugby/volleyball
Running in the sand helps you tone your legs, and makes them work harder
Swimming in a lake/pool/beach is a good way to cool down while getting an aerobic workout in
4) Outdoor Yoga/Pilates
If you remember simple moves grab a mat and do them outdoors.
For rainy days:
1) Wii Fit
A simple and fun way to get the blood rushing
2) Dance Class
Grab a friend and explore new dance moves
3) YouTube Workouts
YouTube offers a wide-range of simple workouts that are all less than 10 minutes so, if you don’t have a lot of time these workouts are great. *Recommend: 8-Minute Abs
