IT Website Development/Support Internship
The Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) is a multi-sport youth organization with millions of athletes, coaches, officials and volunteers who participate in 36 sports.
The Website Development Intern will assist with a variety of projects with the AAU Information Systems Department with day-to-day operations and development of long-term online solutions. The internship is available May through August (start time negotiable) and is based out of the AAU National Office located in Lake Buena Vista (Orlando), Florida.

Requirements/Necessary Skills for Recruitment:

To market AAU more fully to our current and potential customers through marketing and media channels

Duration of Internship is May through mid-August

Intern will work at the AAU National Office located in Orlando, Florida near Walt Disney World Resort

Intern must be able to travel to Detroit, Michigan from July 23 to August 2 to help with Media. Travel, housing and per diem are provided during the event.

Internship provides a multitude of event management and operations experience
Description

Website Updates - assist Internet Coordinators with daily website updates to www.aausports.org and the other 40 AAU National Websites.

Mass Emails - fulfill mass email requests

Computers/Printers/Servers/Email - assist with general IT items such as maintaining staffs computers, laptops, printers, servers, T1 etc.

Research on Products - research products like laptops, computers, servers, and talking to vendors, etc. He could use some help.

News Stories - post pre-written news stories at aaunews.org through third party content management tool.

Other Duties as Assigned
Requirements

Must be organized and able to work through a project with little supervision.

Strong communication skills both verbal and written are required.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and having some knowledge of Access.

Knowledge of HTML language required

Experience with website software required; Macromedia Dreamweaver preferred

Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Macromedia Fireworks or other program preferred [but not required]

General technology background preferred

Must have proficient typing skills
