The Algorithm Research team in Palo Alto, California, is the core group within AOL Networks R&D to develop advanced algorithms for feedback control and optimization of AOL’s content and display advertising networks. The team consists of a group of highly talented, passionate, and friendly researchers working on the most challenging problems in online advertising and content optimization.
The open position is to join the Algorithm Research team to support the algorithm research in data analysis, algorithm development, and Matlab implementations. It is a great opportunity for a top-notch, ambitious, and passionate university student pursuing advanced degree in EN-US">electrical engineering, system and control, EN-US">statistics or related fields. We expect our intern to bring along a strong combination of both theoretical knowledge and experience in putting the theory to use, but most importantly to be excited and able to pick up new skills.
Perform data analysis and business opportunity analysis for content and ad
mso-fareast-language:EN-US">Perform statistical modeling of internet data
mso-fareast-language:EN-US">Propose, validate, and implement models describing the data
color:black;mso-fareast-language:EN-US">Present all findings in reports and presentations
EN-US">Solid background in one or more of the following areas: statistical theory and analysis (e.g., least squares, maximum likelihood, and Bayesian estimation), feedback control theory, data mining, mathematical programming, signal processing, and optimization.
EN-US">Strong programming skills in Matlab are required. Some experience with experience in Perl/Python, shell scripts and/or SQL will help, but is not required.
EN-US">Outstanding team spirit with excellent communication and writing skills.
EN-US">Passionate, and hungry to learn new things and to solve difficult problems.
