Requirements/Necessary Skills for Recruitment:
This is a VIRTUAL internship and requires someone who can truly self manage her or his time. Here is a list of requirements:
-Have thick, bullet-proof skin
-Abilty to both read and listen very carefully and actively
-Abilty to take notes on every call
-Ability to follow up with your supervisor and create on-going to-do lists
-Ability to update your internship portfolio as you go along
-Must be incredibly organized
-Must be able to self-manage your time extremely well
-Must be detail oriented
Internship Description of Duties:
This is an intense and highly detailed internship, and not for someone who thinks that by being virtual it will be easy. We hire up to 4 interns and MAYBE half survive the first two weeks. This internship is for someone who really, truly, wants to get real skills, including media skills, journalism and writing skills, effective communication skills, and business skills.
Weekly PR Duties Include:
Ongoing training and creating media lists on Agility;
Deep research on media, insiders, influencers (added to your bespoke media lists);
Create agendas for weekly meetings (your meetings with staff);
Take DETAILED NOTES on every call;
Create follow-up to-do’s for yourself based on weekly meetings;
Update internship portfolio with all results as you work through internship;
Send out media inquiries and follow up with media
