Find Your Internship

A local nightlife and city guide is looking for a stellar intern to join our team for an IMMEDIATE start date! This is a highly competitive promotions and editorial internship in a fun, fast-paced creative environment. Interns work along side our top editors and designers creating content, pitching ideas, taking videos, researching and interviewing on the streets of Philadelphia and streamlining information. We have a lot going on this semester and need a good deal of responsible and creative interns/street team members. This internship can be as big as you make it. This is a non-paying internship but students will get credit and recommendations... and maybe tickets to some of our local sports partners, if you really impress us.

Requirements/Necessary Skills for Recruitment:

We are looking for talented writers who don't take themselves too seriously. Someone who uses their knowledge of politics, media, gossip, local news, trends, pop-culture jokes and national headlines to craft reverent, witty and smart articles about the serious and superficial things people are interested in.
You're probably already using Facebook and Twitter, and maybe even FourSquare. But with thousands of new location-based marketing and networking applications out there, it's hard to keep track. We need staff members who can keep their ears to the ground on the latest and greatest in what people are using to access what we're doing - sweepstakes, mobile applications, deals/specials at various local venues and more.
We are taking steps in a new direction with our articles, given the recent decrease in newspaper/magazine readership. So while we still need journalists looking for newsy and reverential clips, we need to incorporate more videos. Our interns are out in Philadelphia interviewing bartenders, chefs and store owners on camera. These videos are included within your review/article.
As an editorial team member, we also ask you keep us in the loop of fun events (college, dance, film, music, underground-- anything). You will have to pitch and post events, as well as attend some events to take photos and mingle with the crowds who are probably daily readers of our website.
Requirements include:
- Determination and drive
- Communications, English Marketing or PR major or minor
- Detail-orientated personality, perfectionism
- Creative thinking and passion to be involved in all processes
Our audience averages 155,000 unique visitors, reaches 500,000 sessions and registers over 6.5 million hits per month. Powered by AYC Media, is the premier online nightlife and entertainment guide in the Delaware valley.
Please submit your resume, a writing sample and the reasons why we should give you this internship spot.
