Boston Caribbean Fashion Week is a week long of diverse festive fashion events. The fashion week takes place in August where there are a lot of Caribbean events happening in Boston. It is a week of celebrating fashion and Caribbean culture. This year’s events will be held from August 9 – 13, 2017. All of these events heavily promote local businesses throughout the week.

Requirements/Necessary Skills for Recruitment: 

Learn the behind the scenes process of putting together a fashion week. Work with the team that organizes the whole fashion week. 

 

Internship starts from May 18 - August 18, 2017. 

 

Internship info:
3 months
Hours put in: Non - show week 10 - 15 hours
                     During show week 20 – 40 hours

Requirements for consideration:
-Required to register online through our form provided below
-Position for Sophomores to Seniors

​-Ideal for Fashion, Marketing and Communication/Journalism majors
-MANDATORY FOR CONSIDERATION: Must LIVE IN Boston during the summer and have their own transportation. ALL of the venue locations for the fashion week are T-Accessible
-Must have a working cell phone

-Positive Attitude, motivated, detail-oriented, professional, punctual, reliable
-Open to learning about all aspects of event planning
-Ability to meet deadlines
-Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Power point required)
-Excellent writing skills
-Web savvy – in terms of researching, social networking sites, basic idea of website design/maintenance

-Strong knowledge on social media sites and trends
-Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills

Internship Description of Duties: 
Pre-Production Duties: * Working with local retail stores * Marketing strategy * Assisting with phone calls * Assisting in promotional events for BCFW On-Premise/Event Duties: * Logistical aspects – setting up venues, assist with executing event schedules, etc. * Provide creative and design feedback * Assisting with models, exhibitors, etc. (depending on event) * Shadow event managers
