Bright Kids NYC is a dynamic, rapidly growing private tutoring company focused on providing high-end, specialized tutoring services for K-8 families. We offer the opportunity to gain extensive teaching, curriculum development, client management, and marketing experience in a fun work environment!
Interns will spend time in each of our departments to gain a well-rounded understanding of our business and services and how they relate to New York City school systems. We have a wonderful office culture that is ideal for self-starters. Our offices are located in the Financial District, Columbus Circle, the Upper East Side, and Park Slope. Graduate education students preferred, but not required.
Teaching/Materials Goals:
- Learn about various admissions and achievement exams for NYC elementary, middle, and high schools
- Implement learned strategies and teaching styles in preparing session materials and 1:1 tutoring sessions
Account Management Goals:
- Learn about client management: customer service, on-boarding, and upkeep
- Familiarize oneself with various internet tools: Appointment Plus, Google Docs, Registration platform
- Additional administrative tasks as needed
Marketing Goals:
- Research marketing trends to optimize for future integrated marketing campaigns
- Support the Marketing team in the development of integrated marketing sponsorships and program execution
- Learn about and update mass communication platforms (i.e. social media campaigns, Constant Contact, and press releases through WordPress)
Application Requirements:
- At least a Bachelor’s Degree by May 2015
- Teaching or tutoring experience - preferably with younger students
- Strong administrative, organizational, and communication skills
- IT and PC savvy, as all our systems are electronically-based
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
