Requirements/Necessary Skills for Recruitment:

Internship dates: May 12 - Aug. 8, 2014 (Or summer semester dates)

Gain hands-on professional communications experience at the international headquarters of Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. Intern will work directly with the Communications department, which comprises the public relations team, social media manager and internal communications manager.

Duties include:

Public Relations:
- Presenting two pitchable concepts per week to the PR team, including potential CMN Hospitals placements in broadcast, print and online media
- Tracking and logging CMN Hospitals mentions in the media
- Responsible for documenting and uploading "Hospital Heroes" FOX video segments that feature stories of sick and injured kids at CMN Hospitals

Social Media:
- Weekly: Log engagement per story across multiple social media profiles and channels
- Weekly: Assist with social media engagement across multiple social media profiles
- Quarterly: Update and verify hospital and corporate partner social media resources
- Occasional research for upcoming projects

Internal Communications:
- Seeking out stories and craft posts for the CMN Hospitals internal blog
- Assisting in crafting email blasts to employees

Qualifications:

- Must be a matriculated, degree-seeking college student
- Majors in communications, journalism and public relations are preferred
- Excellent writing skills
- Business social media experience preferred
- Self motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Comfort manipulating basic data on spreadsheets
- Comfort in basic website backend management (no code knowledge necessary)

Benefits & Perks: 

- Intern will be paid $10/hour, 20 hours per week. Hours are flexible and can be can be worked around class times
- Intern may additionally receive college credit for internship
