For nearly 50 years, Gulfstream Media Group has led the affluent, glossy magazine industry in South Florida. Under the name of its flagship publication, Gold Coast magazine, Gulfstream Media Group has grown to six lifestyle (including Boca Life Magazine, The Palm Beacher, Jupiter Magazine, Stuart Magazine and Fort Lauderdale) and four interior design magazines (Broward Design, Boca Design, Miami Design and Palm Beach Design) covering communities from Miami to Stuart. The award-winning company was founded in 1965, and in 1970 its current owner and publisher, Bernard McCormick, came to the helm.

Requirements/Necessary Skills for Recruitment: 

Get a behind-the-scenes look at how a magazine is created and find out if this is the career for you. Interns will learn to pitch and write stories, and coordinate editorial calendars and themes. Opportunities to earn bylines in a collection of 10 magazines, covering topics as varied as inspiring entrepreneurs and philanthropists, fashion and beauty, health and fitness and more.

Responsibilities of the internship include:

Developing themes and content
Pitching, executing and writing stories for print and digital
Editing and fact-checking digital and print content
Managing editorial archives and our annual charity register
Contributing to our social media presence

The ideal candidate should:

Possess strong use of AP style
Have fluid interviewing and writing skills
Be detail oriented and work well in a deadline-oriented environment


This opportunity is unpaid but can be used toward college credit. Commitment is targeted at 15-20 hours per week.
