Requirements/Necessary Skills for Recruitment: 

As an event planning apprentice of reality bending awesomeness (aka doer of good things and operator of events that awe) you will be contributing from day one by joining the AlleyNYC gang producing and executing events everyday and weekend while simultaneously creating in-depth trend reports as reference for team brainstorming. All that said, you’ll be encouraged to help seek unique talent to add to the AlleyNYC culture and take our events to the next level.

Understand, you will be LEADING & COLLABORATING on events and projects. Taking charge with major support and mentorship from the AlleyNYC team.

You’ll be able to work in all facets of our co-working business, but this position focuses on Events, Marketing & Communications.
Support event promotion
Reach out to local event and experience producers for collaboration opportunities
Attend events around the city for inspiration and networking
Help to plan, organize and execute events from behind the scenes
Assist on-site with local events
Support event promotion
Assist in sourcing contacts for social content outreach
Keep social media documents organized (social logins, social media features doc, calendar, social media contact list, etc.)
Giveaway assistance: Reaching out to sponsorships, communities, collecting invites, pulling winners, contacting, mailouts, etc.
Creative writing
Research and trend analysis
Being a something like a phenomenon everyday.

If you have experience throwing parties, gathering groups, entertaining people, putting together events.
If you are ready to bust your ass
If you know how to keep a schedule
If you have a passion for blog-hopping and discovering inspiring underground talent of all genres.
If you have an extensive knowledge of the New York City culture and local events happening within the 5 boroughs
If you have a keen knowledge of current trends in the entrepreneurial, & startup culture
If you have an active presence on more than 2 social platforms
If you have a strong writing ability and great interpersonal communication skills
Knowledge in startup, hip-hop, music, pop culture, style, and the topics that AlleyNYC covers
If you have have basic Photoshop, HTML, Excel, and Powerpoint experience
If you have experience with social media publishing tools (Hootsuite, Tweetdeck, Socialflow, etc.) is a plus (if not get a trial and study UP!)
If you have an extreme attention to detail and ability to self-edit. Seriously we're planners.
If you are comfortable with numbers and reporting as it pertains to social media and site traffic OR if you have comfortable with getting comfortable.
If you can flexibly schedule/availability to cover breaking news and developments around the community
If you have 1-2 years of event planning experience with a proven track record.
