Provide support to the department in our efforts to impact various pieces of legislation (including the child nutrition reauthorization, appropriations, and the Farm Bill).
Requirements/Necessary Skills for Recruitment:
Provide writing and editing assistance to the Policy/Legislative Team in the creation of lobbying materials, fact sheets, letters, and network updates.
Provide assistance with the tracking of relevant pieces of legislation.
Provide research assistance to facilitate the development of policy priorities for the upcoming Farm Bill and other pieces of legislation.
Attend Congressional hearings, Congressional markups, news conferences, briefings and meetings with Congressional staff and partner anti-hunger organizations as needed.
* Assist the department in the planning of the Anti-Hunger Public Policy Conference.
Undergrad or graduate student
Public policy or social sciences background is ideal
Strong writing and analytical skills
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft applications
* Interest in mission to end hunger
