About GlamourGals: 

GlamourGals is a 501c3 not for profit whose mission is to inspire and organize teen volunteers to provide ongoing companionship and complimentary beauty makeovers to women living in senior homes.

Requirements/Necessary Skills for Recruitment: 

A GG intern is a student who is in college and works to assist GlamourGals Foundation, Inc. Interns work closely with the GG Team to expand the organization and oversee its day to day operation. Each intern has a specific project that they will spearhead during their time with GG.

Interns must be available to work in our Manhattan office for a minimum of 1 day a week (Monday - Friday). Hours are flexible.

Duration: Summer (June to August).

Interns will be involved in a variety of GlamourGals projects in different capacities and each GG intern will also be assigned an individual project to be completed during their internship.

Projects may include:
-Creating marketing materials and/or designing mailings that will go out to volunteers
-Writing and helping to implement the GlamourGals curriculum
-Communicating directly with teen volunteers
-Evaluating and rewriting program materials
-Monitoring chapter information
-Planning and marketing of GlamourGals events
-Actively working with the Event Coordinator in coordinating all supplies and services and planning for GlamourGals events
-Monitoring registration for GlamourGals events
-Writing media press releases
-Writing and posting on social media
-Photographing and/or filming GlamourGals events and makeovers
-Editing GlamourGals videos and media
-Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

-Excellent communication abilities including email writing, speaking, and telephone etiquette
-Attention to detail and organizational skills
-Research background
-Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
-Proficiency in Google Drive
-Comfortable with deadlines and able to work well in a fast paced environment both as a team and independently.

The following skills would be a plus, but are not required:
-Proficiency in hand-coding HTML, XHTML, and CSS
-Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, --Dreamweaver and Illustrator)
-Knowledge of print design and web design
-Experience with social media
