About New Story Charity: 

New Story funds life-saving homes and transforms slums into sustainable communities. Our mission is to change trajectories for families, communities and the nonprofit sector. A clear vision motivates us: build 1,000 sustainable communities around the world in 10 years. 

In the summer of 2015, we were funded by Y Combinator, and in our first 18 months, we’ve raised more than $3.5M to build communities and to grow New Story. Innovation, impact results, hustle and a “value-first” approach to our work on the ground make up our DNA. 

Requirements/Necessary Skills for Recruitment: 

The must haves:

Fluency in both Spanish and English

Superb attention to detail

An empathy and curiosity for what homes mean to families and hows this translates to positive impact in communities and societies

Analytical thinking with a data-driven approach to problem-solving

Experience with Excel required (Pivot Tables, Lookups)

You’re confident in your ability and humble at the same time. New Story is looking for a motivated and curious Spanish speaking Impact Data Intern to join our team. You’ll be working closely with Emma, our Global Impact Manager to quantify the impact of a home. This is a big opportunity to contribute to our growing impact evaluation program and understand the The role: Translate qualitative audio and written data from Spanish to English Analyze qualitative and quantitative data from household surveys Work with operations team to provide insights on what a home means to vulnerable populations in Haiti, El Salvador & Bolivia Contribute to building New Story’s impact storytelling strategy Gather data from multiple sources and cohesively compile and create automated dashboards using Excel or Tableau All other duties as assigned​
