Interview Magazine is looking for editorial interns for fall 2010. The primary responsibility of interns in the Editorial Department include: transcribing the interviews that appear in the magazine; up-to-the-minute media research (this will include contact with publicists); updating and maintaining databases and filing systems; and critical written evaluations of current and upcoming releases in all areas of popular culture. Secondary tasks involve idea development, as well as general office and administrative work. Candidates must have strong typing, English and communication skills. Transcribing experience is a definite plus, as is knowledge of Microsoft Office and American pop culture (film, music, art, literature and fashion).
Requirements/Necessary Skills for Recruitment:
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: English/Journalism/Media/American Studies & Film Majors PREFERRED. This internship may qualify for academic credit. Please check with your school.
SALARY: This is a non paying internship. We offer a stipend covering the cost of traveling to and from our offices by subway.
HOURS: MUST be available 2-3 days a week, from 10:00 A.M. – 6:00 P.M.
