Requirements/Necessary Skills for Recruitment: 


During the course of the internship program, we work to educate our future publicists on the skills required to become a successful PR professional, and provide a valuable hands-on experience by demonstrating assignments that are representative of what the team executes on a daily basis, including (but not limited to):

How to support general PR campaigns, openings, partnerships and events for global hotel groups, restaurants and nightlife companies

How to facilitate and manage photo and broadcast shoots

How to manage events, highlighting red carpets, media check-in and RSVP list management

How to monitor for client coverage in print and online outlets via Meltwater, Cision, and other media tracking programs

How to conduct competitive brand analysis

How to identify potential press opportunities through editorial research and media monitoring

How to clip press placements

How to assemble trend reports

How to create and manage media appointments/reservations/property tours

How to successfully report to and communicate with clients

How to write creative and unique media pitches and press releases

How to build and manage comprehensive media databases

How to manage client status/activity reports

How to manage sample tracking

How to distribute media and talent mailers

How to distribute media announcements and pitches

How to develop meeting/call agendas and recaps


This is an unpaid internship - college credit mandatory

Maximum 35 hours/week (we will schedule hours to meet individual course requirements)

Public Relations, Communication, Journalism and Marketing majors preferred

Exceptional creative and technical writing skills

Proficient across all social media platforms (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.)

Excellent organizational, problem solving and communication skills

Desire to learn in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

Resourceful, forward-thinker with a positive and proactive attitude

Punctual and reliable

Proficient in Microsoft Office
