About Maryland Education Fund : 

The Maryland LCV and LCV Education Fund are among Maryland's leading statewide advocacy organizations. We work in Annapolis to pass pro-conservation legislation and engage conservation minded voters on Election Day and beyond to hold elected officials accountable.

Requirements/Necessary Skills for Recruitment: 

Media Coverage and Communications- Annapolis
-Reports to Online Communications Manager -Utilize new media techniques to keep up to date in environmental news
-Monitor local news sources for Maryland LCV coverage
-Assist in writing press releases, coordinating Maryland LCV press conferences
-Help build relationships with newspaper and TV reporters

Legislative- Annapolis – with remote work
-Reports to the Deputy Director
- Scheduling and attending meetings with elected legislators
-Attending political events
-Drafting the 2015 Scorecard -Compiling data for the 2016 legislation

Fundraising (2)- Annapolis
-Reports the Development Director Duties include:
data entry, research, assisting with mailings, phone calls, event planning, grant writing
Skills required:
detail oriented, experience with Microsoft Excel and Google Docs, comfortable on phone, strong writing skills, and ability to work independently
-graphic design experience a plus

Community Organizing- Annapolis/Baltimore with remote work
-Reports to the Outreach Manager
-Help plan events and trainings
-Engage in activism and empowerment -Coordinate outreach and volunteers
-Help manage member lists and update contact information

Latino Outreach- Annapolis/ DC Metro Area/ with remote work
-reports to Latino Outreach Program Director -Spanish fluency preferred but not necessary --- Research ways to reach out to the Latino population in Maryland
- Attend events and outreach
-Coordinating and running volunteer activities -Help design flyers and communications for events

Clean Water Policy / Chesapeake Bay Advocacy- Annapolis/Statewide
-Reports to Clean Water Coalition Director
-Help coordinate campaign activities of environmental organizations all over Maryland
-Assist in development of messaging, communications, and campaign strategy
-Attend coalition and government meetings
-Environmental policy or communications background

The internships begin on a rolling basis on June 2nd and end around September 8th. The internship is 10-20 hours a week. Also occasional trips to Annapolis may be required. Interns must have reliable transportation and access to the internet.
