We are looking for smart, hungry and determined intern candidates who want to begin a career in communications. We need people who can write, think, take initiative and get results. The ability to learn quickly is a must.
Mills PR works with clients in industries that span from food service and transportation and professional services. Mills PR also does a great deal of work developing crisis communication strategies and working on community relations projects. Our interns get the opportunity to work with all of our clients. As a result, our interns get a wide range of experience in all of the different aspects of public relations and gain insight into the operations of an agency.
Typical duties may include: Drafting press releases, media advisories, memos, follow-up calls, building media lists, photography, videography, drafting social media content, social media community management, tracking and compiling clips and hits, updating editorial calendars, running errands, administrative work (faxing, copying, scanning).
The candidate should be able to work in a fast paced environment, and have superior writing skills and attention to detail. There is a minimum 3.0 GPA, but candidates of all majors are encouraged to apply. Must have strong command of the English language and feel comfortable writing and speaking on the phone in English.
We ask that interns are able to commit at least 12 hours a week working at Mills. We are flexible with your schedule, start and end dates, and unexpected events. This internship is an unpaid opportunity, however course credit is available.
We are specifically interested in candidates looking to hone their skills in media relations and digital content generation.
