About The Holiday Girl: 

The Holiday Girl (THG) began as a blog on Tumblr in late 2013 by founder, Lauren "Elle" Ball. Her primary mission was to share content that takes the fear out of traveling abroad with practical information, historical context, sample itineraries and what to expect in the future of travel. As a natural progression, THG added travel consultant services and became a small group outboud tour operator providing individualized services to clients and families as well as curating group travel experiences to far flung locations most people only dream of visiting. True to our roots, the THG blog is still the heart and soul of The Holiday Girl and reflects a strong introspective and empowering voice for women travelers. 

THG Travel Community: Now live, Community is a free travel space for women who dare.  Our desire is to build a digital platform that provides authentic peer-to-peer advice and support to fellow women travelers through online forums. In the future, we hope to bring community learning through online courses, destination guides and other community-centric offerings.

Travel with Social Good: The Holiday Girl is dedicated to supporting local entrepreneurs where ever we go. Thus, it is our practice to directly hire regional or local suppliers to provide our inbound travel services. As well, THG has partnered with Cristina Matossian of Nuevo Futuro Peru, a woman-run non-profit that provide homes and care for Lima’s abandoned children.

Requirements/Necessary Skills for Recruitment: 

Internship Description:
Create awareness of the The Holiday Girl brand and increase membership in Holiday Girl Travel community. Conceptualize new materials and content to increase membership including info products, webinars, and social media campaigns. Identify new opportunities for exposure through content, web collaborations, conferences and conventions, panelist opportunities and new marketing/info productions or web content to reach new members of our core audience. Create relationships with like-minded brands to bring awareness of our community and begin dialogues on how we may work together/support each other’s goals. Produce white paper on The Holiday Girl philosophy and solution to travel for millennial women. Work collaboratively with the team to develop ideas across platforms. This position requires an outgoing, creative person who has a broad range of experience and relationships within different communities.

Qualifications:

Senior or recently graduated marketing major

Proof of excellent written communication

Travel Experience

Smartphone + Computer

Reliable Internet

Scheduled hours during  10-7p PST

Mandatory Teamcall Friday @ 11a
