Internship Description of Duties:
We are looking for an energetic, creative, proactive and detail-oriented person to join us for our 4-month internship program. Many of our star interns are hired for full-time roles after the completion of the internship. This is an unpaid internship, but one that can (if given the school's approval) transfer for credit. You must have and bring a laptop. A commitment of 4 -5 days per week is strongly preferred for the duration of the internship but we are open to other arrangements. We would like someone to start as soon as possible and we will consider local candidates and candidates in school. Internship Description: - Researching media contacts for all clients - Drafting and distribution of news and proactive story angles via phone and email - Researching, booking and facilitating desk-side meetings and media tours for clients - Brainstorming new pitch ideas for clients - Tracking and scanning for media coverage - Beginning to assist in writing press releases and media alerts - Assisting with the creation of media databases and editorial calendars - Assisting with updating the general media database and special interest database - Beginning to build long-term relationships with media - Participating in client calls and assistance with drafting meeting agendas - Assisting with client reporting - Answering and screening phone calls - Answering and screening emails
