About Girl Talk, Inc.: 

Girl Talk, Inc. is a 501(c)3 registered-nonprofit that aims to build teenagers' self-esteems through leadership, mentorship, and community service opportunities. This is done by offering programs where high school girls mentor middle school girls to help the middle school girls get through the trials and triumphs of the middle school years.

Requirements/Necessary Skills for Recruitment: 

Project Inside Out is Girl Talk’s week long summer day camp for middle school girls. Girl Talk Leaders (high school girls) serve as camp counselors and provide encouragement, guidance, and leadership to the middle school campers. The camp includes daily ice breaker games, inspiring keynote speakers, fun activities, and community service experiences. Project Inside Out goes beyond the Girl Talk chapter experience by allowing girls from different chapters and backgrounds to come together, make new friends and build positive relationships all while learning how to be strong and positive young ladies! Camp is a time of inspiration and encouragement, as well as, a time for girls to share their passion and talents with each other.
Girl Talk will be expanding our Atlanta camps to 5 additional cities during June and July 2014 in various locales around the US. We are seeking to build a team that will ensure the same level of excellence that is carried out in our Atlanta camp is represented in all locations.

-A college student looking for an unpaid and part-time (20 hours/week) internship, based in our Atlanta, GA. Office
-Able to work individually as well as with others (especially with the Social Media Interns and volunteers)
-A creative thinker who will find new, exciting ways to promote Girl Talk’s camps throughout the country
-Develop a day-to-day schedule for camp.
-Support Camp Committee Logistics
-Able to seek ways to secure a camp location, food donations, speakers, funds, corporate sponsors, items for goodie bags and other donations for the camp.
-Able to track the fund raising dollars and meeting attendance.
-Able to properly manage the camp pro form a budget (income, expense, profit/loss) for each camp.
-Able to work with groups through online exchanges
-Identify scholarship funds and able to identify campers who may need scholarships
-Recruiting counselors, volunteers, and campers for camp
-Schedule and lead counselors and volunteers through training
-Assist with designing and assembling Girl Talk’s Camp in a Box
-Skilled at communicating in a friendly and professional manner
