Requirements/Necessary Skills for Recruitment: 

SHOPCADE is looking for a highly motivated Social Media/Communications Intern that will work directly with our US Communications Manager. SHOPCADE is a personalized shopping app that makes you Ridiculously Good Looking by serving up the latest trends and best deals all personalized just for you. We work with hundreds of thousands of brands like Urban Outfitters, Madewell, Nasty Gal, Topshop, ASOS, and Nordstrom, just to name a few. Our social communities and blog require your knowledge of the latest trends – from news to fashion – in order to continue to build engagement with our fans.

The ideal candidate is a Communications/Marketing/Journalism major, obsessed with fashion/lifestyle/culture, has a strong aesthetic eye, and a vested interest in developing a diverse skill set in online media marketing. You also need to be a great writer, fluent in social media, and understand the importance of keeping a brand’s voice consistent.

Applicant will be able to work onsite in our Union Square office. We are flexible and will work around your class schedules, but you must be able to work approximately 15-25 hours/week. This is an unpaid internship with an opportunity to work for a fast growing, internationally based start up.

Duties/responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Helping to create engaging and original social, newsletter, and blog content
Proofread and edit content to improve further, before publishing
Manage social media content calendars
Create a database of images, quotes, and lifestyle content to be used in future posts
Identify potential blogger/influencers to build relationships and feature on the app
Assist in building weekly newsletters and creating/sourcing relevant content and brands to feature
Fluency in the social media dashboard, HootSuite
Multitasking across several projects and tasks
Build analysis reports and recommendations to improve engagement utilizing analytical data and insights
Desired Skills and Experience:

Passion for social media is a must — we love bloggers, Facebook, Twitter and instagram pros and those who are personally involved in all things social media
Passion for fashion and style, celeb news
Superior Writing skills; strong English language/grammar skills
Background working with the social media sphere is a plus
Understanding of social advertising, and a strong desire to learn
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills; professional & positive demeanor
A sense of humor!
Pluses:

Experienced blogger/content writer
Experience in using analytics tools (e.g. Facebook Insights, Google Analytics) and developing meaningful measurement reports, analysis and actionable recommendations on next steps
Expertise in publishing content via social media platform tools and social media management systems (e.g. Hootsuite)
