GlamourGals Foundation, Inc. is a 501c3 not-for-profit whose mission is to inspire and organize teen volunteers to provide ongoing companionship and complimentary beauty makeovers to women living in senior homes.

The GG National office is looking for a creative and passionate person who would be excited to assist in managing all aspects of our social media presence. Candidates should be adept with Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, as well as generally savvy about online media.

Ideally, candidates for fall 2015 will stay on for spring semester, with room for additional growth.

Requirements/Necessary Skills for Recruitment: 

GG Intern Responsibilities:

Readings of relevant articles and documents.
Implement a social media strategy across Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
Craft social media posts based on volunteer-submitted content.
Create social media content that highlights the GG mission by engaging with volunteers.
Design and execute an original social media campaign.
Follow and engage with relevant individuals and organizations across social media platforms.
Find and re-post news and other content related to the GG mission, including the issue of elder loneliness, aging, teen leadership and compassion, intergenerational themes, positive ideas of beauty, or relevant makeup tips.
Research and identify online media outlets for prospective partnerships, including features of volunteer-created content.
Analyze the effectiveness of social media impact weekly, and propose ways to incorporate findings into future posts.

GG Intern Requirements:

Background and/or interest in communications, marketing, humanities, volunteer outreach, or youth development.
Enthusiastic about working as an integral part of a small team.
Strong writing skills, including excellent grammar and the ability to use language creatively.
Time management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment as part of a team and independently.
Excellent attention to detail and eye for design.
Ability to work GG National office in Manhattan at least twice a week, for a total of 8-10 hours per week.
