Requirements/Necessary Skills for Recruitment:
You must be in your second year of school or further, you must have some writing experience and have lots of experience doing hard work. You must be organized and passionate, and willing to dig in and commit your time and energy. PR experience is a plus. We seek polite, kind, motivated individuals who love a challenge, are interested in research, love working online, and have some social media experience too. You will need to provide us with three work references.
Internship Description of Duties:
Astonish Media Group hires four virtual interns every semester to work from anywhere on a variety of public relations, marketing and media related tasks. We are a strategic media company located in New York City with a mostly virtual staff of highly skilled and experienced individuals throughout the country. Our agency represents a wide variety of clients from large corporations to early stage startups. Our job? To get them in the media, build their brands, create awareness. We seek very organized, well recommended interns who want to learn the nuts and bolts of public relations, communications, journalism and media from a well known Manhattan media agency. Day to day tasks include: online research, using the public relations data base systems, sending out press releases and tip sheets, following up with journalists, learning how to pitch and place news stories, brainstorming and coming to the team with creative ideas, coordinating conference calls, organizing meetings, creating media lists, and doing social media.
