A Little Motivation
This blog was written by Paola our campus ambassador from the University of Texas, Austin.
About two weekends ago while taking a cab in Austin, it was my birthday, so as I conversed with the driver I asked him, “What would you tell your 20 year old self right now?” and one of the things he told me was, “Do what you can right now, for what you don’t do you’ll be doing it in your 30s.” So for everybody out there who is interning or has had several internships already, congrats! You are already one step ahead.
As an intern, sometimes we need motivation to get us along, and one of my communication professors once said, “You are successful to the degree that others want you to be.” Which is very true, being that you would not be where you are without that supervisor who gave you the job/internship, or that Dean of admissions who admitted you to the college you are in. In this blog I wanted to include several quotes which always inspire and motivate me when I need it.
Choose your friends with caution, plan your future with purpose, and frame your life with faith. – Thomas S. Monsoon
You will never be as young as you are today. – Unknown.
If you wait for perfect conditions you will never get anything done. – Unknown
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do then by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover – Mark Twain
