Nina is our newest Intern Queen Campus Ambassador and our first ambassador from The Netherlands! She is currently interning with StudentEvents.com. Learn about Nina and her internship experiences below!
As a second year student of International Communication and Media at Erasmus University Rotterdam I realized, within the first few months of my studies, that gaining experience through internships was crucial if I wanted to pursue a career as successful as I plan to. I understood that if I did not gain a certain amount of experience by the time I graduate in September 2012 that my CV would not stand out amongst the many other CVs that companies get every month. I also saw that academic education just simply was not enough to build my professional skills and to motivate me get to where I want to be in ten or twenty years. I jumpstarted directly into the marketing and public relations field where I interned at Slovenia’s national airliner in their marketing department. During summer of 2011, I interned at one of central, eastern and southern Europe’s most prominent advertising agencies where I worked on projects for Audi, Porsche, Beiersdorf and the European Commission. Starting July 2012, I will return to the same company with a promotion to Assistant Project Manager. Later on, I interned at the city hall where I did various political campaigning for the upcoming elections – where we successfully won by 70%. Currently, I am interning at StudentEvents.com where I do various different tasks including sales, external relations and public relations. As a motivated student in both my academic and professional areas, I think that other students would be interested in my college experience due to my ability to juggle a limited time frame to achieve the most possible. Furthermore, I can motivate other students to also take up internships and start building their career at an early age, as I for one know that this is absolutely necessary for gaining academic, professional and personal experience.
