I am an English Literature major and am expecting to graduate in May 2013. I have been actively involved with an organization that feeds the homeless in downtown Phoenix every Saturday since August 2010. My past internship experience was with Suzanne Anderson, a fashion designer with over 25 years of experience in the industry, and owner of SuzArt fashion design school. I held two internships with her, in ‘08 and ‘09, where I helped to organize her office and design space as well as market both her clothing line and fashion design school. I value internships because it provides the opportunity to not only learn new skills and abilities in your desired career path, but also allows you to truly discover your passions by giving you hands-on experience. I want to be able to use my internship experiences, mistakes, and lessons-learned to help other students interested in the fashion industry to be successful. I think that other students would like to read about my personal college experience because I can provide a unique and knowledgeable perspective on college life and fashion, having both work and intern experience in the industry. I also happen to be married and slightly older, 24, which I think will be both encouraging to non-traditional students and insightful to students who are just getting started.
