Meet Yonas H.!
My name is Yonas Haile, and I am a student at Louisiana Tech University located in Ruston, Louisiana. I am currently planning on starting my MBA curriculum in the fall quarter of 2011. I have graduated with two degrees in Marketing and Human Resource Management from LA Tech. So far, throughout my college experience, I have been blessed with the opportunity of having two internships. My first internship was an assistantship with a college professor who also happened to be the chairperson of an international business conference. I worked with the conference for a few years as an organizer and helped prep for each conference. My second internship was ongoing this summer, and I have had the pleasure of using InternQueen’s assistance as a guide to obtaining that job. I have a virtual internship with the Aarrow Ads Company, and I couldn’t be any happier. I communicate directly with the corporate office (located in San Diego) and complete tasks that I am assigned while still living in Ruston, LA.
I understand how valuable internships are because I have seen personally the difference they can make in getting an edge on the competition in regards to job hunting. The experience internships bring to the table is essential, and that is a strong reason why I am just fine with my current unpaid internship. I am seeking the experience more than the fiscal benefits. I believe that I can share this valuable information with my fellow colleagues as they continue their college careers and dream of the world outside of school. My personal experiences with my internships have helped me grow and understand the value of what one summer with a company can do for your resume and profile. During the school year, I like to play a lot of intramural sporting activities, and I have interacted with a lot of students from every classification through these activities. Also, I am a member of SHRM.
