My name is Lucie Mosko, and I go to Penn State University, University Park Campus. I will graduate with a degree in Telecommunications and Business Liberal Arts Minor in May 2012. Currently I am an Ad Sales intern for Sony Pictures Television in New York City, an internship I also had in the summer of 2010. I will broaden my internship experience in July of 2011 working as a production intern for the Dr. Oz show, also in New York City. During the school year, I am actively involved in Penn State’s student-run philanthropy, THON, benefiting children suffering from cancer. I am also the internal PR chair for Penn State’s yearbook, La Vie. I have great insight into the life of an intern; I commute to my jobs by bus from home in Toms River, NJ a solid hour and a half from NYC. I have worked as an unpaid intern and worked my high-school job at an ice-cream store on the weekends to pay for my bus tickets. I believe I offer a unique perspective into the life of a college student and a summer intern, trying to pave the way for my future with a career in NYC. I believe that having an internship gives you the work experience necessary to begin a career in your chosen field, but it is the personal experience you take away from that internship that will help you in the long term.
