I am a rising senior at the University of Georgia, majoring in communication studies. I am incredibly self-motivated and am constantly imagining ways to simultaneously reach my dreams while also helping others. I love to learn, and I am not afraid to take chances. This past year, I had four internships. The first was at DanceFx, a nonprofit dance studio in Athens, Ga. I served as the marketing intern and conceptualized an event called “Spread the Love” that raised $1100 for the Athens Area Homeless Shelter. Helping the homeless is a cause that I am passionate about, and it was amazing to see how great of a role PR, advertising, and social media played in making the event a success. I also interned at Girls Get Real, a website designed to help high school and college girls prepare for their futures. This past spring, I interned at Athens Fashion Week and served as the entertainment coordinator. I loved organizing and scouting out entertainment for each showcase. This summer, I moved to Charleston, S.C. for a PR and social media internship at Step Ahead Inc. This was a crucial moment in my life because I’ve never lived by myself, let alone lived in a brand new city by myself. It has been scary and exciting all at the same time, but I love every minute of it. I am learning much about this industry and about myself. I also love to express myself through dance. This past year, I began my very own hip-hop performance company called Sweet Dreams. We have emerged as a well-known group around campus and have served as the opening act for recording artists such as B.o.B and Roscoe Dash. I pride myself in having a wide variety of life experiences. Networking and building professional relationships has allowed me to have many amazing opportunities.
