Meet Jackie M.!
I am an active rising senior at the University of New Hampshire. I am a double major in studio art and communications with a minor in business administration, expecting to graduate in December 2012. I am also a Procter and Gamble Scholarship Achiever, a team player and diligent worker interested in the areas of communications, PR, marketing, and advertising. I am a creative thinker with strong communication skills that I developed through leadership programs and professional experience in the areas of sales, entertainment, and communications. I am a current intern at the Avedis Zildjian Company, illustrator of an Author House children’s book, and am a campus mentor for Greek Life. I am also involved in my community in other ways. As Social Chair of my sorority, I was directly involved in the planning, publicizing, and promotion of monthly events. Within my community, I enjoy volunteering at the local Dover Children’s Museum in New Hampshire and participating in intramural athletics. I value internships because they provide students with an interactive experience that is more beneficial than most classroom experiences. An employer once told me if you learn nothing else from an internship experience, take with you that “business is people.” In internships, learn how to professionally interact and grow to understand the importance of networking. Overall, I am an energetic individual who has taken advantage of on-campus resources, understands the internship and interview process (I applied to 35 internships for the summer of 2011!), is personable, and already an on-campus mentor.
