Meet Ayesha Z.!
I plan to graduate in 2014 with a BA in English (emphasis in Creative Writing). I&ve been part of the Student Government Association which, at first glance, might not have anything to do with introducing me to the idea of internships, but it did instill in me the passion to learn, grow, and advocate for what students at UTPA want. My own parents have discouraged me from seeking internships, insisting that any unpaid position is not fit to live by. I wholeheartedly disagree. The heart and valor with which you work as an intern reveals your true capabilities and opens your eyes to the real world you are going to step into. It builds connections, character, and lets you know if you really are passionate about working in the field you have been thinking of.
