Greek Life. It’s not just four years it’s for life.
Greek experiences are different for every person, no two experiences are the same. Be proud and confident in your experience and recognize the importance of the skills you gained from Greek Life. Whether or not you held a leadership position, you should include the time you were in your sorority or fraternity on your resume. Here are a few reasons why:
1. By highlighting your participation in philanthropy events, planning and organizing events, or presenting ideas and opinions during meetings you can enhance your resume and show that you are comfortable taking on responsibilities beyond an internship or job.
2. Greek Life offers an abundant amount of connections with other Greeks. During your four years, you are making connections with likeminded individuals that may be able to help you later on in your professional journey.
3. Greek Life offers conferences and leadership camps to connect with others and learn knowledgeable skills for your future! These events are also great experiences to add to your resume.
4. Sororities and Fraternities offer a large number of opportunities for those to actively partake in tasks and opportunities to better their chapter, community, and philanthropy. Your experiences in involvement during your time in Greek Life should be talked about and highlighted to bring to the light the importance of the work you put into your sorority and fraternity especially during philanthropic events.
Remember: Be proud and confident of your Greek experiences and don’t be afraid to talk about them during an interview. You never know, your future boss could be a fellow Greek alumni!
