This is guest post from our Campus Ambassador, Lindsay Hopkins from Wilfrid Laurier University
Exams can be one of the most stressful times of the year. With final papers due and exams beginning it’s challenging for students to cope with the stress. After many years of exams I’ve compiled some of the best tips for making it through exams alive. Follow this as a guide and you’ll be on your way to success in your final semesters of school.
Tip One: Organization is key. Keeping on top of your work can make exams a lot easier. By keeping a calendar of your study and assignment schedule exams will seem a lot easier.
Tip Two: Start early. If you have a lot of exams the best thing you can do is start studying ahead of time. Give yourself a week or two before exams start to study a chapter a night. This way, when your exam is a few days away all you have to do is review.
Tip Three: Review in advance. The best way to make exams less stressful is by reading over your lectures after class each night. Reviewing your lectures after class will help you remember your course work and will make studying for exams less stressful.
Tip Four: It’s all about rest and a healthy lifestyle. Getting the required amount of sleep will leave you rested and ready to study. Also, making sure that you’re eating a healthy diet will keep your brain and body active for studying. A balance of all the food groups will make sure your bodies is prepared for exam season.
Tip Five: Take a break! There is not point in stressing yourself out more than necessary. Studying from 8 in the morning till 12 at night is not only unhealthy but may not guarantee your success on exams. Giving yourself breaks throughout the day will help your body relax and will ensure that your obtaining the best amount of information possible without jeopardizing your health.
Keeping these five tips in mind while your entering exams will help ensure that you do great! Good luck in exams!
