Next semester the time will come when you are rapidly approaching your last semester as a college student or scrambling to find a summer internship. I’ve been utilizing my time in Tallahassee this summer to get some things done and prepare for the future. Recently, I made an appointment at the FSU Career Center. They were so helpful and provided me with a lot of insight with career advisement and job searching.
During my time there, I found out that there were many different ways to help in the search of finding a job. Our campus has on campus interviews where you can sign up to potentially interview with a company. Many recruiters love to hire recent graduates from their alma mater, so it may be beneficial to find out how you may have some connections in a certain company. Also, it’s great to utilize LinkedIn to find new connections and maintain current contacts. Another tip I learned was that it’s never too early to prepare! You can never start your search too early and when you know what you want, you can know how to get it.
When you return to school in the fall, get ahead and visit your campus career or resource center! Make an appointment and see what services they have to offer!
